Party Package Formula …
We are taught that “more” of anything, is better. In the world of commercial birthday party programs, this statement is many times counterintuitive.
When More Means Less in the Party Biz
More kids in the package = less overall party guest experience
More kids in the package = less focus and attention on the party child
More people including adults = less personalized guest experience
More packages = less ease of booking because of “decision paralysis”
The more food in packages = the less they actually eat.
More time = less personal weekend time for the guests
More items in the party package without increased price = less profit
When more can mean more
More kids in package = more age difference disfunction because party moms want to get their monies worth and fill the slots with older or younger cousins, neighbors, or siblings not aligned with the party child’s age.
More kids = more adults staying
More people = greater crowds, more chaos and more clean up
More food or outside food = more clean up
You are in control, and you define who will be your party clients by the offering and the price you charge. You are also in control of whom you choose to compete. The party business is counter intuitive. What you would expect to be true, many times is not. It’s the opposite, in order for long term sustainability. Be the contrarian, start doing the opposites.
